Gone Wanting is a book that covers four generations of a family from their beginning roots to their end point where the last living descendant decides to end the line by not having any children. The story starts with the Boxleys, Caleb and Josie and their daughter Maybelle, living on a poor dirt farm in Southern Arkansas and ends with Jennifer Scott living wealthy in Raleigh, North Carolina finally finding some chance of hope. It is a story that depicts the evolution of generations, the genes that follow each descendant, and the never ending quest for what each one wants so that one doesnt go wanting.
