This new book is to provides students, academics and legal practitioners with a comprehensive introduction to the broad scope of international human rights law. The practical approach offers an understanding of the workings of human rights protection and presents a useful legal analysis of highly sensitive issues including non-discrimination, rights of minorities, indigenous peoples, and the rights of women and children. The study also presents a detailed consideration of new areas coming within the ambit of human rights law, such as international terrorism in the aftermath of 11 September 2001. Part V Crimes Against the Dignity of Mankind analyses human rights' violations in the form of torture and international terrorism. Appendix I provides Sources and Further Research in Human Rights.
