Ever since the opening of the door between Earth and the fairy realm, magic and mythological creates mix once more. Gillie, full of wild youthful energy, leaves her family in England to roam and explore the earth. Lindsay Wells volunteers for an outreach program in Portland for homeless and transient youth. A former street kid herself, she quickly realizes Gillie's in trouble. Beings that resonate with magic and enmity have chased Gillie across the US but neither knows why. A desperate scramble to help Gillie escape her pursuers sends the two on a dangerous journey, hopping freight trains and hoping for answers.
