In her pre-baby life, Nancy Ripton was the editor-in-chief of Oxygen and Glow magazines. In addition to her journalism background and degree from Ryerson University, she has a passion for health, fitness and nutrition. Nancy is a former personal trainer and group fitness program director. Nancy has been an editor and writer for two decades and has a large network of editors in magazines, newspapers and online. The work-at-home mom now balances parenting her sons Bode and Beckett and daughter Stella with managing JustTheFactsBaby.com and freelance writing. Her clients include: Canadian Living (in which she is the contributing health editor), More (contributing fitness editor), Glamour, Self, Cooking Light, Men's Fitness, Today's Parent, Chatelaine, Canadian Family, Pregnancy, Fit Pregnancy, and various others. She is currently editor of Viva magazine - a balanced health publication.
Melanie Potock, MA, CCC-SLP is a pediatric feeding specialist and certified speech language pathologist. Her practice focuses on the family and teaching the fundamentals of parenting in the kitchen. Melanie has over 15 years of experience helping babies, children and teens learn to eat a variety of healthy foods. The spectrum of kids on her caseload includes children with significant medical issues to the garden-variety picky eater. Melanie's extensive knowledge of how children learn the developmental process known as "feeding" and her joyful approach in supporting the whole family on their feeding journey is the perfect combination and leads to happier, healthier mealtimes for everyone. In 2010, Melanie founded My Munch Bug, LLC to serve as the platform for her international speaking tour. She wrote and self-published Happy Mealtimes with Happy Kids and a children's music CD that celebrates the joy of food, the award-winning "Dancing in the Kitchen!" In 2013, Melanie teamed with pediatrician Dr. Nimali Fernando to create a unique preschool curriculum entitled "Doctor Yum's Preschool Food Adventure!" The interactive curriculum was designed to introduce preschoolers and parents to the joy of eating fruits and vegetables; currently over 300 young children participate in the program.
