A young woman finds an abandoned diary in a coffee shop. As she reads the writers most private thoughts she finds herself identifying with his troubled past. As she reads more she dreams of meeting the author. Soon she meets the man of her dreams and discovers that he is the author, but as she reads more and more of the diary, Ellen becomes convinced that she is in love with a serial killer.
