Susan Peterson is the daughter of two remarkable people who lived extraordinary lives during the one of the world's most tumultuous times, WWII. History is written by the stories we tell. All of our stories are important. They are built on the origins of those who came before us, connecting us to universal truths about ourselves and about the world. This book is dedicated to my parents with love and gratitude. May their history help us reflect on our own, and the stories we will tell. This is the story I wrote to bring honor to my parents and provide the world with an unusual wartime love story.
