Tony Perkins is a passionate and powerful communicator of God's word. Having served as a pastor in Louisiana, Tony has also filled the pulpits of churches across the country. He is the creator of Stand on the Word, a daily journey through the Bible as events happen chronologically, in an effort to get more believers reading the Bible (see FRC.org/Bible). As host of Washington Watch, a nationally syndicated broadcast on multiple media platforms, Tony is raising and resourcing a new generation of SAGECons (Spiritually Active Governance Engaged Conservatives) with a biblical worldview. He has served as president of Family Research Council in Washington, DC since 2003, and is a former chair of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom.
Tony and his wife Lawana have been married since 1986 and have five children, and one grandchild.
