In this cluster we meet some scary pirate characters in the book Nasty Nate's Pirate Adventure, have fun at a pirate fair in Shiver My Timbers and Treasure Hunt and find out what life was like for real pirates in the two non fiction books Blackbeard's Ship and Pirates. Each book comes with notes for parents that highlight tricky words or concepts in the books, prompt questions and suggest a range of follow-up activities.
