Edward D Padilla's dedication to the community began with a whispered pledge, "I will do everything in my power to kill the disease that killed you". Edward speaks internationally to broaden education about HIV protection and the needs of those living with HIV and AIDS. After writing multi-award-nominated novels, Edward catapulted these endorsements to pursue his true mission of HIV/AIDS fundraising. As more people read his novels, interest in his theatre scripts rose. Edward used this opportunity to promote "Fallen Guardian Angels" (1985) as an HIV/AIDS fundraiser, and "The Hunger" (2009) to strive for equality for all. "Fallen Guardian Angels", available in various languages, has worldwide performances exclusively mounted for HIV/AIDS fundraising. After a staging in Las Vegas, NV, a local critic advised Edward to offer the piece to high schools. Edward started emailing schools and received positive responses despite an exacting requirement: To stage the piece there is no internet advertising allowed.

Groups must rely on personal community involvement to create success. This technique presents those who were not yet born the opportunity to understand the era. Students must hand out flyers and meet their community. Allowing only an email blast to the organization's established supporters, this limited use of internet offers an additional safeguard: less opposition. Edward has energized a new generation into building a community, staying informed, and being safe. "Fallen Guardian Angels" received the seal as "Official Script of World AIDS Day" by the World Health Organization, and was inducted the International AIDS Organization's archives as a dramatic historical perspective of the beginning of the AIDS Pandemic. "Fallen Guardian Angels" also holds the distinction of being the first American-Language script mounted and produced in North Korea since the 1960's. Due to the success of "Fallen Guardian Angels" and his fundraising efforts, Gay/Out lists Mr.

Padilla as one of the Top 25 Most Influential Gay Men in America (2010/2012). A highly regarded speaker at HIV Charity fundraisers, organizations successfully utilizing his talents see a notable donation increase during his speech. A welcome force in the HIV/AIDS and LGBT community, Edward, who does not live with HIV or AIDS, works nonstop toward the goal of equality and acceptance for all.
