As more people read his novels, interest in his theatre scripts rose. Edward used this opportunity to promote "Fallen Guardian Angels" (1985) as an HIV/AIDS fundraiser, and "The Hunger" (2009) to strive for equality for all. "Fallen Guardian Angels", available in various languages, has worldwide performances exclusively mounted for HIV/AIDS fundraising.After a staging in Las Vegas, NV, a local critic advised Edward to offer the piece to high schools. "Fallen Guardian Angels" received the seal as "Official Script of World AIDS Day" by the World Health Organization, and was inducted the International AIDS Organization's archives as a dramatic historical perspective of the beginning of the AIDS Pandemic. "Fallen Guardian Angels" also holds the distinction of being the first American-Language script mounted and produced in North Korea since the 1960's. Due to the success of "Fallen Guardian Angels" and his fundraising efforts, Gay/Out lists Mr.
