Melissa Ohden is the survivor of a failed saline infusion abortion in 1977. Despite the initial concerns regarding her future after surviving the attempt to end her life at approximately seven months gestation, she not only survived, but with the love and support of her adoptive parents, medical professionals, and later, her biological family, she has thrived. Melissa holds a Bachelor's degree in English, Education, and Spanish, and a Master's degree in Social Work. In 2010, Melissa gave up her career in Social Work to accept her calling to share the miraculous story of her survival, the love and mercy of God, and the impact of abortion with the world. She is an internationally known speaker, radio and TV guest, contributor to magazines and news outlets, and she is the author of You Carried Me, A Daughter's Memoir, which was published in January of 2017. Melissa and her husband Ryan live in Kansas City, Missouri with their two daughters, Olivia and Ava. Although speaking and writing are Melissa's calling, being a wife and mother are her first vocation and great love.
