This is the NOTELESS VERSION. (This version has no references or background information. For full notes and background information, see: The Third Book of Enoch (NOTES Version) (Theosophy, Merkabah, Mysticism, Kabbalah, Rosicrucianism) by Dr. A. Nyland.)This is a NEW (2010) easy-to-read translation by ancient languages scholar Dr. A. Nyland and is NOT one of the many Public Domain translations of Enoch NOR IS IT A REWORDED PUBLIC DOMAIN VERSION of Enoch.
Great advances which have been made in ancient word meaning in the last twenty years were unknown to the translators of the public domain versions of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Enoch ascends to heaven and is transformed into the angel Metatron. Jewish mysticism traces to the Merkabah practices of the 1st c.CE. The goal of Merkabah Mysticism was to enter a trance-like state by means of fasting, meditation, prayer and incantation, and thus ascend to heaven to God's heavenly throne room and experience God's Throne-Chariot (Hebrew: "Merkabah").3 Enoch is of interest to Kabbalists, to Rosicruciansim and Theosophy, as well as to anyone interested in Reference, Christian Books and Bibles.
