Peter Norman was born just after the war in Lancashire, but has lived most of his life in the Thames Corridor in Essex. He spent 30 years serving with Essex Police, most of which was at Southend on Sea as a sergeant, during which time he wrote a large number of short stories. On his retirement he had more time to devote to his passion of writing and he joined two writing groups, both of which he now chairs. In his time in the Police Service he has attended many incidents - some mundane and routine and some at the opposite end of a painful spectrum. This book draws on his experiences over many years to add flesh to the bone of the narrative. The incidents described within are all figments of his imagination, although, by the very nature of the job, each one could easily have happened exactly as described.
