March 21, 2014, the Feast Day of St. Benedict, when Jeanine took her First Profession and she became a Jr. Benedictine Nun. The Nun who gave me the framed poem - I'm The Mother of a Nun - was a gentle spirited Nun and struggled with a disability. She, in many ways, was one who cheered Jeanine on and she knew what it was like to live with a physical disability. Jeanine and I will always cherish the poem she had framed for me that day, two and a half years after Jeanine entered the Convent, to discern the life of a Nun. It still hangs on our living room wall and will always hang in our home. The Feast of St Benedict, March 21st is celebrated every year, because St.
Benedict entered eternal life on that day in 547 AD. Also, on that day, my mother, Jeanine's grandmother, entered eternal life in the year 2012, two years after Jeanine entered the Convent. As Catholics, we knew many were smiling down from heaven that day. Was this all a coincidence? Or not? You decide.Almost four years to the day, that Jeanine became a Jr. Sister, the Convent decided to dismiss Jeanine from ever taking her final vows. Jeanine was going to take her final vows the year they kicked her out of the Convent.
