Author Michael Newton's idea for Jeremiah Jambalaya had been rolling around for years and he even developed the character ideas, but they never came to life. Then one day, he was talking to one of his young sons and told him about his idea. It was his son's idea to write a story about Jeremiah and the other characters as a way to give them life. This is his second Jeremiah Jambalaya book.
