Bruno Munari (October 24, 1907-September 30, 1998) was inarguably one of the most groundbreaking designers and inventors of the twentieth century. His contributions to the arts were wide-ranging and his influence far-flung, fundamentally changing the fields of graphic, book, and industrial design, painting, sculpture, film, and photography, literature and poetry, and more. After the birth of his son, Alberto, Munari was became significantly involved in the researching and production of children's books, games, and toys, encouraging and infusing them with creativity, movement, humor, experimentation, and hands-on learning.
