There is a well-known teaching in Sufism regarding human spirituality that speaks of the human soul as being on a path whose origin and return are the Divine Presence. In between origin and return are three essential journeys: the journey of the human soul toward God; the journey of the human soul in God; and the journey of the human soul with God.
