After his first book Syrup, Biscuits and Sow Belly, Mills follows on with more stories of old South Georgia from both long ago and not so far back, which are complimented by some essays of "life" with its many facets and surprises. Old stories go back to the start of the twentieth century with special input from friends and relatives. Newer stories come from Mills's life and the lives of those he knew.
