I was born into a pre-set family. My parents were forty years old, my sister almost nineteen and my brother turned fifteen two months after my birth. Same parents for all three of us, no step this or half that. Born in 1948 in Macon, Georgia, I grew up in a segregated South and came along learning about back-of-the-bus seating and labeled water fountains. Begin late born, I was always trying to catch up. And my approach to "catching up" always logical, somehow always led to hilarious mishaps that left me quite confused and the adults in my life quite frustrated.
