Philip Meyer is the Knight Chair in Journalism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The author of several books, he spent twenty-three years as a reporter, Washington correspondent, and market researcher for Knight-Ridder, Inc. He continues to provide consulting services to several newspapers.
