Sexualised Masculinity provides an investigation into the distinctive ways in which representations of contemporary masculinity across popular culture have become progressively sexualised. From TV commercials, to reality television formats, social media to popular music the male body has become a site of erotic investment in ways that were scarcely imaginable in previous decades. Mercer and Smith seek to explore manifestations of the sexualised male body across a range of 21st Century online and offline media artefacts at a point in which masculinities have become far more diverse and complicated than those described by the traditional media of the past.
