James McGrath, father of nine, a former U.S. Naval Reservist, an ex-police captain, a past director in the supermarket/food processing industry, and a Knight of Columbus officer incorporates real life experience into his characters.McGrath received his early literary training from the Catholic nuns who taught English (composition, short stories) during his grammar and high school years. For the past twenty years, he has written a weekly column for the Sunday Bulletin at his church. McGrath also wrote, edited and published a monthly newsletter, The Windjammer, for his Knights of Columbus Assembly. Those publications resulted in "Editor of the Decade" and "Knight of the Year" awards for McGrath. His autobiography, The Dodsworth Lane Man.
(Amazon/CreatSpace, 2015) is his first publication of a paperback book of any genre. That experience inspired and challenged McGrath to ardently write more stories. Linking forty-plus years in the food industry, where he earned a "Man of the Year" award, plus seven years in an urban police department, where he was honored with a Key to the City, McGrath brings authenticity and insight to characters in the stories he writes.
