McLellan grew up in the small town of Windham, Maine. Although this is his first book, he's been a poet, songwriter, and musician since he was a teenager. Throughout his life, he has enjoyed various occupations such as working on a blueberry factory in Maine, acting as a butterfly and insect collector for the University of Maine, and functioning as a bee keeper at an organic farm in South Bristol, New York called Shimmering Light Farm. After graduating from the University of Maine in Orono in 1976, he moved to the West Indies to teach secondary school music in Green Island, Jamaica. Subsequently, he spent three years at Glaydin School in Leesburg, Virginia as a music, math, and yoga teacher. After that, he spent a few years working in the field of information technologies. He's been a business and life coach since 2004. In 2010, Bruce fulfilled a lifelong dream of summiting a world-class mountain by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa.
