They are thrust together not by faith but by their desire to maintain the demands placed on them daily to fulfill their chronic addiction needs which leads them to not only huge substance abuses but predictably the daily abuse of each other. "You're a cunt (The merry-go-round of misery)" is filled with the many hidden truths about the human condition, the lack of desire to seek professional and reasonable solutions to their own problems or addictions. It shows the human mind and how it works simply to have one more day of substance abuse which in-evidently leads to emotional, psychology, personal and most certainly in the case of Helen's house, physically and violent abuse. It is driven by the inner need to connect to something or someone similar in needs, desires and emotions or not as in case of some of the characters we meet in this play. Based on fact, "You're a cunt (The merry-go-round of misery)" is not an isolated and exaggerate case of misfits but a mirror into the deeper and darker secrets of not just some homes across Ireland but the entire world.
