Ryan Martin, born 1982, raised in Los Angeles & Orange County, moved to Oakland, CA in 2002 to study Fine Art. After a well received first solo exhibition at Mark Wolfe Contemporary Art in San Francisco, he now works as a professional Visual Artist.Martin's written words continue his exploration of fantasy within the same realm as his oil paintings: with mystery, surrealism, and at times unfortunate/unexpected outcomes.Martin also works and volunteers with Oakland non-profits; he's an activist for social justice, instructs urban youth in peace projects, teaches art as a means to heal wounds of racial and social discrimination, and also creates art-integration curricula using California State Standards for grades k-8th.He is currently working on the production of his first novel, PRIMARY EXTINCTION, which will be the first book of a fiction series titled SPEKTRA.
