The one principle that the author has reflected on, taking something for what it is, has allowed him to gain a true respect for himself. This respect and appreciation was tough to see initially as he lives with one arm and the effects of a severe brain injury. Yes, it s different from what most other people deal with but it does not change the person that he is and what he stands for.
