This is the story of Annie, a tan and white, wire haired terrier mix. When Annie dug under Susan?s fence, she was seeking what all dogs want and need; love and affection, as well as tender loving care; a sense of belonging. Annie was lonely, and there were two other dogs on the other side of the fence to give her company. Although she had been adopted by a forever home, there seemed to be something lacking, and she thought she would find the answers in Susan?s yard on the other side of the fence. After jumping Susan?s gate and habitually digging under her fence, Annie?s adoptive family decided that for some reason Annie wasn?t happy. Although Susan wasn?t looking to acquire yet another pet, she took on the challenge of fostering her first dog when Annie?s plight tugged at her heart strings.Susan has since started her own 501 (c)(3), non-profit rescue that she has aptly named Annie?s Rescue, after that first dog that brought her attention to the plight of dogs that are deemed unadoptable; dogs with illnesses, injuries, dogs who are deemed to be too old for adoption, or those with varied behavioral issues that make them difficult to place with forever homes; dogs that need a chance to change their lot in life, which is possible with tender words, affectionate strokes, praise, and an abundance of love and affection. Annie?s Rescue is located in Cottonwood California.
