Wil Mara has been writing professionally since 1986 and is now the author of more than 275 books, most of which are for children. His supernatural Twisted series was launched in 2018, with the second title, House of a Million Rooms, becoming a featured pick of the Junior Library Guild. He was also a professional editor for more than 20 years, working for such houses as Prentice Hall, Scholastic, McGraw-Hill, and Harcourt Brace. Today he is an associate member of the New Jersey Association of School Librarians, and part of the executive committee within the Board of Directors for the New Jersey Center for the Book. He is also the NJCFB's Writer in Residence. He is the recipient of the 2005 New Jersey Notable Book Award, the 2013 Lime Award for Excellence in Fiction, and the 2019 Literary Lion Award.
