Mansfield In a lay-by besides a dual carriageway fifty miles north of London on a freezing cold night just before Christmas , a heavily built man drags a bulging black bin bag out of the back of a battered old transit van and throws the bag down a steep incline towards a large moonlit pond.Just before the bag is about to plunge into the pond, it splits asunder and out cascade five dazed puppies . When the bin bag, weighed down by two house bricks, sinks below the surface of the pond, without its intended live cargo , the man curses before jumping back into his van and driving off into the night leaving the puppies to face their fate .
