Joe Graham is thirteen and he wants to be eight again. Middle school is much more complicated than grammar school and he's been given an assignment that is giving him second thoughts about growing up and joining the adult world. He doesn't know what to do so he begins by asking around: his brothers, his sister, his friends, his teachers. What Joe learns may help him survive the eighth grade.
