Murphy was born Wayne Batdorf somewhere in Maryland and raised in VA Beach, VA. At the age of 15 he happened upon a book of poetry and so began his journey. What-How-Why-Now would in time become poems. A lifetime of on again and off again writing would eventually lead to -in an unusual moment of cognition - a desire to assemble a collection for publication. An opportunity to share with the entire world (or maybe just six and a half people) his poetry. In addition to writing poetry, Murphy is a carpenter, plumber, electrician, radio DJ and proud feminist. He lives in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Afton, VA with his wife La and lots of family close by!.
