James F. Linzey served as an Air Force chaplain for over 12 years, reaching the rank of Captain. Assignments included Vandenberg AFB which was part of the Space Command. He transferred to the Army as a chaplain and retired as a Major after a combined service spanning nearly 24 years. He is a singer, hymn writer, and recording artist. Books written include Moral Leadership and A Divine Appointment in Washington, DC. He serves as the chief editor of the Modern English Version Bible translation. In 2021 he moved to Coffeyville, Kansas where he serves as the lead pastor of Coffeyville Worship Center.
He is an ordained Southern Baptist Convention clergyman.
