Susan currently lives in Houston and works as an executive coach.From 1998-2006, she was the Director of Leadership Rice at Rice University, a program to develop the leadership capacities of undergraduates.She also taught Leadership Rice for Professionals in the Glasscock School of Continuing Education.Earlier work included founding director of Super Summers, a non profit group providing localized resource guides to middle and high school students; manager of community affairs for the City Controller in Houston; executive director of the Educational Confederation, an association of 21 pre-collegiate independent schools in St. Louis; and associate with the Conservation Company, a Philadelphia-based consulting group.Susan holds a Ph.D. in public affairs from the University of Pittsburgh and a Masters of City Planning degree from the University of California at Berkeley.
She did undergraduate work at Berkeley and Vassar.She is the author of New Traditions, The Real High School Handbook and SUPER SUMMERS for Houston, Jacksonville FL and Springfield MO.She is co-author of The KIDFUN Activity Book and Venus in Bluejeans.She is currently working on a book about mothers-in-law.She lives in Houston with her husband Michael, a research physician.
