Li Yajiang is a professor and doctoral supervisor of Shandong University, who engaged in the teaching and scientific research of material forming and control engineering (focus on welding). The work mainly concerns special welding technology for advanced materials and dissimilar materials, such as diffusion bonding of superhard materials, bonding of high-strength dissimilar materials, laser welding and additive manufacturing and robot welding. He went to BMSTU in Moscow and Virginia University in the United States to engage in cooperative research in 2007 and 2011, respectively. He has completed 4 projects from National Natural Science Foundation, 12 projects from related provincial (ministerial) government and more than 30 cooperation projects with the enterprise. In recent years, he received First prize of Natural Science from Ministry of Education of China, 5 awards from provincial (Ministry) government and 42 national invention patents. There are 300 publications cited by SCI/EIand 20 monographs or translations, including "Welding Metallurgy-Weldability of Materials", "Special Welding Technology and Application", etc. There are 14 doctoral students and more than 30 master's students graduated. He is a vice chairman of the welding subcommittee of Material Forming and Control Engineering Teaching Committee of China Machinery Industry Association and a member of the Material Weldability Special Committee of China Welding Society, etc.
