Buffie Biddle attended Moore College of Art and Design and graduated from West Chester University with a BFA and minored Special Education. After working for many years with children with special needs therapeutically, Buffie returned to the arts including illustration and writing specializing in material for children that both educates and entertains with a strong emphasis on wildlife, the natural world and conservation.Pura Vida Mae was the first of Buffie's stories to be published and was inspired by her first trip to Costa Rica where she observed an iguana resting in a tall tree watching the river in Tortuguero National Park. Buffie has collaborated with other writers, and organizations on various projects as a freelance illustrator and author. She also contributes her work to projects that support worthy causes.Buffie is devoted to conservation of the natural world especially with regard to endangered species. Combining this passion with her love of meaningful travel, Buffie volunteers on conservation projects in her spare time. For the past few years,when not writing or illustrating, she has volunteered off and on with the ARA Project, which is devoted to the conservation and repopulation of both macaw species indigenous to Costa Rica.
This particular project is very close to her heart as she is a devout bird nerd.Buffie is also the aunt and godmother to two amazing boys who she loves to spoil as much as she is able.
