Being an Upstander is like being a hero. It takes courage and strength. It is like an act of love. Many famous people have been Upstanders in their own ways. Upstanders have been around since the beginning of time. They can be found in every corner of the earth, including in our classrooms and on our playgrounds. Upstanders STAND UP for kindness, love, acceptance, compassion, nonviolence and fair play. Upstanders never let children bully other children.

When they see somebody who is bullying, they say "Stop that" or tell an adult." An Upstander is a boy or girl who stands up for the children who need a friend. Upstanders do not allow their classmates and friends to be bullied or allow them to bully others. Upstanders "stand-up and speak-up" to help everyone learn to understand, accept, and value those around them.".
