Hye-oon Lee was born in South Korea and moved to the United States at the age of twenty-four. She started tatting while raising her two daughters as a stay-at-home mom. Within a year of learning how to tat, she started designing her own patterns. Most of her design inspiration comes from nature, and she is particularly fond of flowers. Her other interests include gardening, hiking, and traveling. She currently resides with her family in Seattle, Washington.
