This work is an example of word play using first line lyrics and song titles from The Daily Ukulele: Leap Year Edition songbook compiled by Liz and Jim Beloff. I also used a Google search to find other songs as the project grew. I find it a fun writing exercise similar to Found Poetry in creative writing. Catching first lines and titles of songs at random and assembling them into a verse is often full of surprises, distractions and food for thought. Lyrics and song titles in juxtaposition and out of their familiar context can brighten the day and leave you with a song in your heart. If a lyric doesn't have a reference in the appendix it may have escaped during the rewriting process. A Google search may assist in finding where it was last seen. Feel free to add punctuation to taste.
