This book is the story of the perilous trials and walks through the wilderness Ann encountered while working as a research assistant, studying animals in a remote part of Africa. Many of the perils encountered were life threatening, others potentially devastating. Several times she thought she was going to loose her life. She was caught in the middle of a gun siege in her camp, robbed, trapped in an alley by venimenytly angry man, and lost in a wall of fog on an unfamiliar mountain, with darkness looming in.
