Amy M. Le was born in Vietnam and in 1979 when she was five years old her mother fled the country taking only Amy and Amy's cousin along. Like hundreds of thousands of boat people who were refugees of the Vietnam War, they risked their lives in the open seas on a rickety boat that was anything but a sea-worthy vessel. They ended up on a refugee camp in Indonesia before getting sponsored to Seattle, WA in 1980. Shortly after arriving, Amy was rushed to the hospital for a life-saving operation. Being an immigrant in a foreign land and navigating through the complexities of a Western society posed many challenges for the family. Through perseverance, familial bonds, love and forgiveness, Amy's family went from surviving to thriving.Amy graduated from Western Washington University with a degree in Sociology and worked in the technology and telecommunications sector for twenty years.

After her mother's death in February 2017, Amy left her corporate job to write her debut novel as a tribute to her mother's heroic decision to flee Vietnam after the fall of Saigon. SNOW IN VIETNAM was published in 2019 and was recognized as a finalist in the Pacific Northwest Writers' Association's literary contest. Her subsequent two books in the Snow trilogy, SNOW IN SEATTLE and SNOW'S KITCHEN, published in 2020.In Amy's spare time, she volunteers for a child advocacy center and serves as the Oklahoma City Writers' Inc.'s president. She is a big fan of the NFL, especially the Seattle Seahawks team, and loves watching the Ultimate Fighting Championship bouts. Amy calls the Pacific Northwest and Oklahoma state her home. Her greatest joy is spending time with her husband, son, and pets.
