When disaster strikes, it is how you deal with it that matters, Barry Roberts underwater shift in the North Sea ends when the Dive Support Vessel (DSV) he is working from is hit by a tremendous storm. When he finally manages to decompress and escape the confines of the diving habitat, he finds that everyone is dead. Eventually reaching dry land he finds himself alone, it appears that a disaster has befallen the planet and he is the only one alive.
