We read in the Gospels that Jesus told many, many parables. Parables have been described as earthly stories with a heavenly meaning. As Jesus traveled, he'd see an everyday occurrence, from which, he would teach a lesson to His disciples. A farmer planting seeds, birds feeding on grain, fishermen casting a net, a poor widow giving an offering at the temple, lilies growing in a field, a fig tree with no fruit, guests selecting the honored seats at a table, dirty feet unwashed by a host, a shepherd looking for a lost sheep, a mustard seed, a vineyard, a lost coin, a small child. the list goes on and on. Lessons to be learned from everyday occurrences - I call them, "Lessons From Life." Jesus used the things of life to teach spiritual lessons. I believe these lessons are all around us.
We are in the midst of them every day. They are where we live, where we work, where we travel. They are opportunities to challenge us, encourage us, warn us, educate and enlighten us. They are lessons from life.In this book I have compiled fifty-two such lessons. Lessons I have experienced in my own life. They are intended to be a quick, two to three minute read, fifty-two short devotionals. I hope that you will enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed experiencing them and writing about them.
