Though born in New York, Charles T. Stewart spent his first eleven years in Brazil. After Boys High School and some college in Atlanta, he served in New Guinea and the Philippines, where he was wounded and decorated. On returning, he received BA and PhD degrees in Economics at George Washington University, taught at Utah State, did research for government agencies, then joined the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, becoming Director of Economic Research before returning to George Washington University as Professor of Economics, Emeritus since 1992. He is the author of "Around the World in Eighty Years, A Collection of Poems, published by Brunswick Pub. Co.

They are combined with vivid impressions of places and peoples far away and near at hand. His reflections on nature and mankind stress the object of interest, sparing the reader subjective involution.
