Richard Knight, Jr. has been the film critic for Windy City Times since May of 2004. He is a frequent contributor to the movie section of the Chicago Tribune and has written for the Los Angeles Times, the Chicago Reader and New City. He is the author of three previous collections of film reviews. In 2009 Knight formed the Queer Film Society, a non-profit comprised of openly gay film critics, academics and film historians. The mission of the QFS is to support queer cinema whenever possible. In 2012 he co-wrote, co-directed and co-produced the indie film "Scrooge & Marley," a modern day, gay variation on "A Christmas Carol." In 2013 he was the Programming Director for Reeling: The Chicago LGBT International Film Festival.
