RACHEL KHOO is being hailed in the UK as the next Nigella. She moved to Paris in 2005 to enroll in the pastry program at Le Cordon Bleu. She worked, catered and taught at La Cocotte, a culinary bookstore and tea salon. She began hosting an underground restaurant in her tiny apartment in Paris' Belleville neighborhood, 'La Petite Cuisine a Paris,' with seats for two, which was covered in The New York Times T Magazine, the Huffington Post, and Larousse. (She tested recipes for this book out on her clients, too.) Rachel's show, The Little Paris Kitchen, a cooking show out of her tiny kitchen, is on Monday nights on BBC 2 and is warmly received. She has a blog (http://www.rkhooks.
net/) and a website for her creative culinary consulting company (http://www.rachelkhoo.com/). She leads a regular Julia Childs tour in Paris. Rachel grew up in England and attended the Central Saint Martins School of Design in London, working for Thomas Pink out of school. Her mother is Austrian and her father is Malaysian, and these varied influences lead to Asian tweaks on classic French fare. DAVID LOFTUS is an acclaimed British photographer who has shot 6 books for Jaimie Oliver. He has shot other culinary luminaries such as Heston Blumenthal, Martha Stewart, and pop star Boy George.
David's work regularly appears in Australian Vogue, Tatler, Gourmet, the Telegraph, and Red, and his clients include Virgin Atlantic, India Hicks, and Ralph Lauren.
