5.0 out of 5 stars Challenging all we have been taught to believe about 'reality' Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 May 2021 This engaging book is an up-close and personal account of the author's experience of undergoing psychic, bare-hand surgery. Faced with the prospect of conventional surgery, and a lengthy recovery time, she chose the road less travelled and booked herself on a trip to the Philippines, along with a small group of equally intrepid souls, to work with a man gifted with extraordinary healing skills. Her lucid account documents both the outer, and inner, journeys -evoking in rich, sensory detail, reminiscent of a travel writer, the unfamiliar environment, whilst also describing, in a very precise, yet matter-of-fact, way, the surgeries performed. There are detailed photographs, not necessarily for the squeamish, but intriguing, and challenging all we have been taught to believe about 'reality'. If you are interested in what else is possible, beyond the existing medical paradigms, then this book will certainly open your eyes. Above all, this is a sharing of a powerful healing experience, for those involved, and, at the same time, a very human, and heart-warming, story. It would be easy to sensationalise such a narrative, given the subject, but Theresa's direct, and almost understated, writing, allows the story to speak for itself - and for us to draw our own conclusions.
