In there a mysterious Buddhist statue starts talking to him - something he tries to ignore especially when he's invited to a seance by his new mentor a psychic called Alice Meanwhile his college tutor leaves abruptly passing Michael on to new supervisor - Dr. Snyde; a devious and brilliant scholar but also one of a pair of occultists with plans to take him over - body and soul.
