Altars and shrines take many forms, from the awe-inspiring structures in churches to the household shrines we use as a focal point for prayer. Whatever their form or size the common intent of them all is to create a personal sacred space. As religion and spiritualisim becomes increasingly diverse these altars become manifestations not only of the divine, but also if the human spirit and our personal aspirations and happiness.
