Jace Warcloud had always thought life was simple and easy to read. He was wrong. Learning about a race of people 'that he belonged to' who were able to control the elements of our world, all this being heard through letters sent by mail from his always absent Uncle Sivil, Jace decided to leave his boring lack of a life to learn about becoming that 'needed' something extra, a Dweller. Picking up and leaving his adoptive family behind after the mysterious syrum from the letters shows up, he travels to the address that came wrapped around the bottle of blue liquid. But as he moves closer to his destiny, strange Creatures are released and are powerful and they will do anything they can to make him complete what his father, the 'water user' started, the chance of eternal life or endless death in the trials of the Challenge of the Gods.
