I was astonished! Fresh and bold with impeccable scholarship and an insider's feel for poetry and literature, Regina Jennings has woven together the political and spiritual dynamics of Africa America's deep rivers of thought and expression. Bringing to light the warm, dark, and ancient oral traditions of Africa with the worlds at the frontiers of science is a remarkable contribution. Edward Bruce Bynum, author of DarkLight Consciousness and The African Unconscious Dr. Regina Jennings astounded me as I read through her manuscript on poetry and the Black Panthers because I never realized how deeply my UC Berkeley street corner recitation of "Uncle Sammy Called Me Full'a Lucifer." April 1966 affected her. I would never have thought this adventurous young lady who ran away from home in Philadelphia to join the Black Panther Party. when she was a teenager would become an author, and one everyone should read. Bobby Seale is co-founder of the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense, and author of Seize the Time and A Lonely Rage.

Your book is so awakening.full of Black knowledge. I have never acquired so much. historical facts and resources.ever in my 53 years . Kudos sis!! I can't put it down.!! ! Couldn't have asked for a better history book for my library. Couldn't wait to get it in my hands knowing the great Bobby Seale wrote the foreword.

I'm more than impressed In America there is a white america and a black america, we function on a different level and we also think differently even when we interpret words or what one thinks. There is a necessity for a book that breaks down this concept and I think this books does just that AK This is one of the most compelling books of the 21st Century. Using her history as an active original Black Panther Party member as a primary information source, Dr. Jennings bridged the gap between thousands of years of Afrikan history and our modern Black revolutionary experience fighting against oppression. She brings to life men and women of the past in a way that we've never before seen. To connect the impact of words and songs from our deep Afrikan Ancestral past to our modern use of poetry and song as an unbroken stream of freedom fighting tactical battle strategy, was pure genius. I left this book feeling like I personally know Brother Bunchy Carter and am one of his biggest fans.
