Or will he, too, never make it home? Author biography: I was born in Wiltshire many moons ago, and have since lived all over the UK. I have worked at different times in different places as a quantity surveyor, a cloakroom attendant, a barman, a pay clerk, an outdoor instructor, and a management trainer. I have loved music ever since I could twiddle the dial on a radio.

My musical highlights include reaching the dizzy heights of grade 4 violin, bumping into Simply Red in a nightclub, and - more recently - singing backing vocals on a catfish website jingle.
